BCS graduation ceremony 2019 (Sri Lanka)
The 20th BCS Graduation Ceremony was held at the BMICH on Tuesday 15 October 2019 with the participation of the BCS President Michael Grant and the Managing Director of Learning and Development arm of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
BCS is focused on the agenda of leading the IT industry through various ethical challenges, supporting people who work in the industry, and ultimately make IT good for society. Thus, BCS is on a mission to ensure that everyone has a positive experience with technology. This is something that the professional body has been committed to since the British Computer Society was founded in 1957. BCS is a 68,000-member strong community spread across 150 countries and members include business leaders, educators, practitioners and policymakers who are all committed to strive towards that mission.
Amongst the many offerings that BCS showcases, BCS Higher Education Qualifications (HEQ) helps candidates to progress in degree-level IT study tailored to a chosen career path. HEQs are reviewed, recognized and monitored by Ofqual providing you with a guarantee that they meet the highest quality standards. The BCS Diploma in IT, which is part of the Higher Education Qualifications has
also been recognized at level 6 of the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ).
BCS have been delivering the Higher Education Examinations (HEQs) globally for over 50 years and has offered Professional Examinations in Sri Lanka for over 20 years. Over the past 5 years, Sri Lanka has supported over 13,000 students to gain IT qualifications through this process. BCS Exams are held at standard venues in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna with the supervision and quality assurance of exam
delivery by the British Council in March and September annually. BCS Graduation Ceremony is the most looked forward event in the BCS Events Calendar annually celebrating the achievements of the BCS graduates in Sri Lanka and in the region.
