Methodology

The survey was conducted online by BCS among its membership. A total of 810 took part in the survey between 1 December 2023 and 12 February 2024. The survey was promoted via solus email, weekly newsletter, social media, and via the chairs of the member groups. This year the survey was extended to cover some questions about AI. Percentages quoted are based on the number of respondents who answered each question. This may vary from question to question because non-respondents to specific questions are excluded from the base. Unless otherwise indicated questions were put to all participants.
