We focus on the ethical implications of technology provision, use and development, in order to build public confidence in IT and maintain the reputation of our profession.

Understanding the ethical aspects of IT is becoming increasingly important to everyone given its ubiquitous nature and role in society today. We’re always happy to have new people on board and if you have any ideas for our forthcoming programme of activity, do get in touch at groups@bcs.uk.

Our specialist group aims to increase engagement and promote wider input from IT professionals across roles and disciplines, to address the wide-ranging issues and dilemmas faced by our industry in today’s fast-evolving technology environment.

We’re passionate about making a difference in our digital world. We work with colleges and universities to encourage young people to pursue a career in IT and to engage with the ethical debates of the day.
