Tell us a bit about where you work and your job role?
I'm Vishakha, and I currently work as a Cloud Architect at Google where I design and build large-scale cloud solutions for clients in various industries, including finance, AI/ML, retail, and cybersecurity. I'm passionate about technology, thought leadership, and career development, and I'm always eager to learn more.
My goal is to help businesses achieve transformative results by using automation and secure cloud deployments. With years of experience working with open-source tools and platforms, I'm also committed to mentoring others in the field of cloud technology.
What is your professional background?
I have a strong background in Cloud computing and DevOps engineering, with expertise in areas like Containerization, CI/CD, and automation. I hold a Master's degree in Computer Information Sciences with a concentration in Cybersecurity from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, and another Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. I am also a Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), among other industry certifications.
Before joining Google Cloud, I worked as a Container & CI/CD Specialist - DevOps Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and as a DevOps Engineer at Brightspot LLC. These roles allowed me to gain extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions for a wide range of customers.
What drove you to become a BCS Fellow?
I have always been passionate about technology and its potential to drive positive change. I believe that the BCS Fellowship provides a unique platform to connect with other technology leaders, share knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of the IT profession. I am also keen to mentor and support aspiring tech professionals, and the BCS Fellowship offers valuable opportunities to do so.
What are the benefits of being a Fellow of BCS?
Being a Fellow of BCS offers numerous benefits, including recognition of professional expertise and achievements, access to a network of IT professionals, and opportunities for professional development and leadership. It also allows me to contribute to the BCS's mission of promoting the advancement of computing and its applications for the benefit of society.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
In the future, I see myself continuing to work at the forefront of cloud technology, helping organisations to innovate and transform their businesses. I also aspire to play a more active role in shaping the future of the IT industry, through thought leadership, mentorship, and community engagement.
