Why did you choose to apply for the RITTech registration?

I applied for RITTech to get my name out there and establish myself in the industry. Being listed on the BCS RITTech register allows potential employers and industry professionals to see my credentials and dedication to IT. I also saw it as a challenge—personally.

How has RITTech helped you in your career?

RITTech has helped me in ways that might differ from most professionals. It has allowed me to connect with other BCS members, gain mentorship opportunities, and receive support from experienced professionals. It’s a foundation for bigger achievements, such as one day earning the prestigious Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status.

What would you say to other tech professionals considering BCS membership?

I would, without hesitation, say go for it. Becoming a BCS member means joining a vast and diverse community of IT professionals, opening doors to networking, mentorship, and career development. For students and those early in their careers, I’d recommend it even more. At the end of the day, everyone in your class is studying the same degree—what sets you apart from them? BCS membership gives you that edge, offering guidance on CV writing, career advice, and direct access to professionals already working in the industry.

What advice would you give to others considering applying for RITTech?

Just like BCS membership, I’d say go for it—it’s an incredible achievement. I still remember waking up to the email saying I had been awarded RITTech status; it was almost surreal. RITTech provides a sense of professional validation and recognition, allowing you to appear on the public register as a trusted IT professional. It’s a great way to demonstrate your commitment to the field and stand out.
