SIGiST Apprentice Award
BCS special interest group in Software Testing is pleased to launch the specialist group’s "Testing Apprentice of the Year Award", originally announced on 3 November 2020 at a specialist group event.
Who should enter?
This award is open to current UK-based Software Testing apprentices, or people who have completed their software testing apprenticeship within the last six months. There is no age or experience limitations. Apprentices do not need to be BCS members. For apprentices, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your IT and digital skills, a chance to win a cash prize and make your mark on the IT and digital sector. As an employer this is a great way to promote your apprentices, and as a training provider, this award will highlight the hard work and commitment of your team.
What are the criteria?
This award recognises those who have maximised the training and development opportunities presented to them throughout their apprenticeship programme, and can show demonstrable results. They will have made a significant contribution to support the business activities of their employer, or an open-source or not-for-profit project, and are on track for a successful career in software testing.
How to enter?
Nominations can be submitted by anyone except the apprentice themselves. That includes employers, managers, colleagues, or even a family member. Nominators should write 300-500 words about why the apprentice deserves the award, based on the above criteria. Email address for nominations: sigistapprenticeaward@bcs.org.uk
The closing date for nominations is 1 February 2021.
