BCS ISG Chair
Cllr Paul M Smith BA (Hons) DipNLP MDipNLP CISM CISSP CompTIA CRISC Prince2
Cllr Paul M Smith is an experienced financial and capital markets professional, as well as being the former Sales Lead on many Commonwealth projects, (including the Commonwealth Yearbook). More recently, Paul has worked as an award-winning ICT Sales Director at Hewlett Packard, specialising once again in Africa/EMEA. He holds many senior non exec roles, including as a Committee Chair within BCS and member of many other BCS Committees. Paul also proudly serves as Vice-President, isc2 (East of England Region as well as on Chartered Insurance Institute Cambridge Committee.
He also serves as a Councillor in his home village of Sawston, Cambridgeshire. Paul is also a Certified NLP master Practitioner and hold many qualifications across NLP, financial services, ICT, project management and cyber security. Paul is passionate about Africa, American Football, ESG, CSR, Financial Services regulatory reform & GRC issues. He is devoted to his beloved wife Yari and hopes that her home country of Venezuela will soon be free one day.

Colin Pearson, CITP, MBCS
Expert Witness & Forensic Investigator at PPS Ltd. He has been in the IT industry since 1963 and advised many companies on their choice of new systems. he is independent of any supplier; this has enabled him to give evidence in court on several occasions. Forensic reports have covered fraud, perjury and paedophilia as well as many civil contractual and employment disputes.
His specialities include experience of computers in many industries especially Order Processing, Stock Control, Production Scheduling, Ecommerce and Web Design.
BCS ISG Events Officer
Keith Oborn
After reading Physics at Oxford Keith gravitated, as many technically-minded people did, to the computer industry via the newspaper pre-press business. He has worked for organisations ranging in size from 6 people to the NHS, and in locations including Egypt, California and many others.
For the last 25 years he was involved with the Internet Service Provider industry, being a member of the UK Internet Consortium in the early 90s, one of the first customers of UKnet and PIPEX, and later as a consultant for Inktomi in content distribution technology. He was the leader of the systems architecture team at Virgin Media (where many wonderful projects were proposed, and a few even got built!)
He finally worked in product development, product management, pre-sales, implementation consultancy and general customer wrangling for Nominum Inc, deploying a DNS-based Parental Controls and Anti-Malware system. Nominum was sold in 2007, at which time 90% of UK broadband lines were covered by this system, and around 50% globally. Keith retired on that high note.
Keith is now active in local government, is a trustee of his College alumni charity, works with the local NHS on volunteer recruitment and public communications for the vaccination programme, and of course tries to organise ISG speaker events.

Shi Zhou, MBCS, MIET, MIEEE, MACM
Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Network Science at University College London (UCL). He received his PhD in Telecommunications at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) in 2004. He is currently affiliated with the Media Futures research group and the Networks and Systems research group of the Department of Computer Science, UCL. He held a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering/ EPSRC Research Fellowship from 2007 - 2012. His research interests include the structure, function and evolution of large-scale complex networks, in particular the Internet and the World Wide Web.
Joseph Leung, DBA, MBA, MEd, MMgt, PgDipArb, FBCS
With a wealth of experience in the information technology industry for around 30 years, he is now serving as a consultant in a leading online payment service company in Asia and also serves as a lecturer at the PolyU SPEED. He obtained his Doctoral Degree of Business Administration in 2015 with research on “Social Media in e-Government”; besides, he also obtained 3 Master degrees which focus on Master of Management in IT Management; Master of Education in IT; and Master of Business Administration.
In addition to academic qualifications, he also acquired various qualifications in other disciplines which includes DISC Certified Behavioural Consultant; Accredited Mediator, Arbitrator, and a IT Columnist. Furthermore, he has been engaged in different global computer societies for many years which include BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, Singapore Computer Society and Hong Kong Computer Society.
He strongly believes his diversified skills and updated knowledge in IT and related sectors could support the development of BCS and its Specialist Groups.
Peter Lewinton, MA (Oxf), MBCS
Peter has worked in the digital media space since 1998 and was one the pioneers of VOD and live video production and transmission over the broadband internet. He founded klipcorp IP in 2010 to assist with the protection of intellectual property in the digital age. klipcorp Ip has delivered projects to the Wimbledon Championships, Commonwealth Games 2014 and BT Sport. Peter graduated in Law from Oxford University and has WIPO DL101 and DL-201 qualifications in intellectual property. In 2015 he successfully swam the Hellespont from Europe to Asia in aid of Great Ormond Street.
Lynne Dagg
Lynne qualified as a teacher in the 1980’s and taught or lectured in both schools and colleges before joining Sunderland University in 2003. She has a wide range of research interests centering around education and computing. Lynne is currently Treasurer of Teeside BCS serves on the IFIP Working Group 3.3 as well as serving as a school governor, a trade union branch officer and she is involved in a local political party. Her hobbies include photography and astronomy, and she is a member of a local reading and a local writing group.
