Which grade should I apply for?

Choose your grade based on where you are in your career journey, and your level of experience – whether you’re studying, training, working, or just looking to give back to the industry, there’s a grade for you.

What do I have to do to become chartered?

Chartered IT Professional (CITP) is the industry’s gold standard. Achieving CITP involves evidencing your competence and professionalism in a written application and assessor review meeting. Learn more about becoming chartered

How do I upgrade to the next level of membership?

Upgrading involves a short online process to update and verify your credentials. When you’re ready to take your membership to the next level, head to your MyBCS account profile and follow the upgrade link.

How do I rejoin or reinstate my membership?

If it’s less than three years since you left BCS, you can still log in to your MyBCS account to reinstate your membership. If it’s longer than three years, you'll need to rejoin as a new member. Get in touch with our customer service team if you have any issues or queries regarding this.
