About the speaker

Pamela Agbahor holds a BA (Hons) in Foreign Languages and Literature with a major in French, but her careerPamela Agbahor has been IT-focused for over 15 years.

While working at a commercial bank, she developed a strong interest in banking database systems, leading her to self-learn database development. This marked the beginning of her journey in the software and data technology landscape.

Today, she is a software engineer, data management professional, and certified IT quality manager.

Her IT experience spans diverse roles, including software and database development, data management, IT training, and Business Intelligence analysis, along with auditing, administrative, and other support roles – in diverse sectors but primarily in the education sector.

With a strong focus on data and processes, she believes that data is the foundation of most technologies and is passionate about developing and defining processes for the effective collection and use of data, ensuring it is handled with precision – much like a diamond that reveals its true value only when refined and properly utilised.

Pamela merges her dedication to data with quality management strategies to design robust workflows and processes that align with organisational data needs. Driven by a strong belief in the power of collaboration, Pamela advocates for stronger partnerships between software engineers, data managers, and data scientists to drive true innovation and success in the AI and tech world, grounded in robust, high-quality data.

Recently completing an MSc in Computing with a specialisation in Software Engineering from the Open University, Pamela’s dissertation involved in-depth interviews with key stakeholders in the Film and TV industry.

These interviews uncovered major barriers in environmental sustainability data collection and highlighted opportunities for improvement.
