Synopsis

The aim of this virtual event is to capture the views of a dispersed geographic community on the challenge to the IT profession now that IT is a utility and expected to be available 24/7.

The RoundTable at BCS London made a number of recommendations, see availability-bcs-itlf-round-table-090125.pdf. In this event we will briefly set the scene before asking participants for their perspective of the challenges facing the IT profession now that IT is a utility and expected to be available 24/7.

The focus is on the new, different skills needs in this environment: additional to those relevant to the business and technical environment that many of us were trained for.

The event will be recorded and available on YouTube. The Availability Working Group of the IT Leaders Forum will use the inputs as important sources of information to steer their activities.
