Synopsis
This talk will discuss the huge range of cybersecurity threats that a large corporation (or any other organisation) may face, and what processes are followed to provide protection from them. This will give some idea of what working in a large cybersecurity team is really like.
The speaker will also cover how the computing landscape has changed past 30-plus years, and why we are perhaps facing more (and different) threats now than we have at any time in the history of computing. Given the rapid advancements in technology over this time, how we deal with cyber threats now, and over the next five years will be very different from how this was managed in the past.
All of this provides many opportunities for those interested in a career in IT security, as numerous skills are needed to cover a whole spectrum of requirements. The talk will include a run-through of the structure of Pfizer's Global Information Security team and will then take a closer look at the Incident Response function.
Some specific attack techniques will be covered during the presentation. If you’re interested in a career in cybersecurity, or would just like to know a bit more about the subject, this talk is for you!
It is IMPORTANT that physical attendees familiarise themselves with the venue details.
