Synopsis
This talk will cover the application of Quality Management process to a system that has been in service for well past its due date.
A number of the components within the system are no longer supported but still need to be secured as they are in use. It will highlight how useful the IT Quality management scholarship was to me as an individual and also to my organisation.
Whilst this project highlights the application of QM principles in a single instance, it will also cover areas that QM has been applied across the organisation for wider benefit. It will cover aspects of Zero Defects Attitude, the price of non-conformance and vocational certainty.
We will be joined by the esteemed Dr Larry Kennedy, the CEO of the Quality Management Institute.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Matthew Lewis
Matthew Lewis serves as an Information Systems supervisor at the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2 within the British Army.
He has over 15 years of experience delivering communications solutions in fixed and deployable locations all over the world. Specialising in Information Security he now shifts his focus from engineering to strategic policy and planning activities.
He was a student on the first ITQM scholarship and the project he delivered saw him recognised in the Kings Birthday Honours with a Chief of the General Staff commendation. He has recently been selected to co-host the 3rd iteration of the ITQM scholarship.
In his spare time he is a keen sportsman, applying his leadership and quality knowledge to his position of captain and coach for a local hockey team.
