Dr. Deepthi Ratnayake FHEA, MBCS, CITP, MCS(SL), SLAF (Rtd.)
Principal Lecturer, University of Hertfordshire | Committee Member, BCS-ISSG


Dr. Deepthi Ratnayake is a university academic, researcher, and author with nearly 40 years of experience across industry, defence, and academia. She specialises in cybersecurity, networking, and information systems management and has led large-scale office automation and network projects.

Her research includes intelligent intruder detection and automating cybersecurity compliance. She is contributing to the Security and Systems Subject Group and Cybersecurity and Computing Systems Research Group at UH. She also serves as Associate Editor of Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective.

Dr. Ratnayake recently secured a UKRI grant to develop a cybersecurity assessment tool for SOHO/SMEs and leads workshops on compliance role-play and cyber skills, aligned with UK cyber strategy, and contributes regularly to BCS IT-Now.
