Synopsis

This special webinar is jointly organised by BCS Digital Divide Specialist Group and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), featuring Sean Sadler of BCS & WCIT and Rob Edgar of Thames Reach.

This event is part of amplifying #EndDigitalPovertyDay on 12 September launched by the Digital Poverty Alliance to end digital poverty by 2030. Sean and Rob will discuss how the trend to moving more services online makes it more important than ever for those who are either already homeless or at risk of being so, to be digitally literate. They will also illustrate how digital literacy and inclusion is a growing problem that needs a concerted effort to address.

Sean and Rob will provide typical examples of some of the issues and challenges that people face in helping themselves out of homelessness and what initiatives Thames Reach with the assistance of the WCIT have implemented to help them address these.

You will be able to participate in the question and answer session at the end.
