Synopsis
We are accelerating towards the automated future. But this new future brings new risks. After years of development and recent breakthroughs, artificial intelligence is transforming businesses, consumer electronics, and the national security landscape. But like all digital technologies, AI can fail and be left vulnerable to hacking. To try to prevent illegal use of the power of AI, we are now introducing Ethical practices. But it's an evolving technology, very vulnerable because so much is new and mostly unexplored.
We will discuss mechanisms trying to ensure fair use of AI. Then we’ll show how vulnerable AI can be. We’ll look at hacking examples and real case studies which show how easy is to make illegal use of AI. Today, very few people—including those in influential business and government positions—are aware of the new risks that accompany automated systems. How can we help them to open their eyes and start governing AI risk? The aim of this presentation is to move a little step in this direction.
