About the speakers
Geoff Smith
Geoff, is a data strategist, non-executive director and advisor focused on human rights and cultural transformation in emerging data platforms and intelligent machine technologies. For more than 30 years he has led commercially focused data privacy and empowerment functions; developing, operating and transforming data systems and culture. He is a Visiting Professor at Loughborough University where he lectures and researches on topics such as Digital Ethics and Trust Economies, Innovation, Leadership and Empowerment Technology and Digital Decarbonization. An advocate for sustainable development he is an ethical advisor on the UK Government National Digital Twin Program and a member of the DIF (Decentralised Identity Forum) Travel & Hospitality Special Interest Group.
StJohn Deakins
StJohn (Singe) Deakins is the Founder and CEO of DataSapien, a cutting-edge company that empowers consumers to control their personal data using Zero-Shared Data technology. A serial entrepreneur with a track record of building successful startups, StJohn has led ventures such as CitizenMe, a platform enabling individuals to manage and monetize their own data, and 3ple-media, a mobile multimedia platform that he sold to a US private equity firm. He has also played a pivotal role in early digital transformation projects like digitizing Lloyd’s List and launching British Airways' first online booking system. With a global perspective gained from advancing consumer mobile data and payment services in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and South America, StJohn continues to push boundaries in data privacy and digital empowerment. StJohn has an mMBA in Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Loyalty Academy.
