Synopsis

Various forms of scams are now a familiar problem and of great relevance to BCS members either mid career or as students entering a career in IT.

Mike Lee will present a 'state-of-the-art perspective on this. He will explain how the old scams (phishing, spear-phishing, links to lure a response etc) are being updated to seem more legitimate and fool even the young and wary user.

He will also illustrate how the use of AI now makes the old scams seem more legitimate.
