Synopsis
Genetic engineering at home: Can you make beer glow in the dark (Gyles Ifill)
All things considered, genetic engineering is not something usually thought of as a hobby. However, I tried to use some of my lab experience to see if modifying ale yeast could be used to change the appearance of a small scale beer brew.
A musician stuck in a scientists body. Gyles is very much a passionate and dedicated scientist. He recently graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first in Biological Science having completed work at University of Reading as a Research Assistant then going on to study his PhD and completing Postdoctoral Research at The University of British Columbia.
This month we are proud to be part of Reading Science Week.
Our monthly meetups are held upstairs at Zero Degrees (9 Bridge St, Reading RG1 2LR) from 7pm.
So please do come along, grab a beer/food at the downstairs bar (the mango beer and wood fired pizza are epic) and come share your geekery and enjoy a relaxed evening of talks + networking + beers.
Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
