Synopsis

In this talk entitled "Security Metrics Matter", Paul brings a pragmatic blend of cyber risk experience and academic research to help organisations understand how to use cyber metrics wisely, how to design a metrics model, how to identify the vital few vs useful many cyber metrics, and how security metrics can drive continuous improvement and support other parts of the security program and business engagement.

About the speaker

Paul Guckian

Paul Guckian is an experienced cyber security leader and an award-winning speaker. He currently serves as the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) at Lloyd's Insurance Market and is also a part-time PhD researcher. For the last 2.5 years, he has been carrying out applied research in the areas of cyber metrics, systemic risk, and cyber risk quantification. Paul is a former Fellow of the British Computer Society and former Chairperson of the BCS IRMA special interest group.
