Synopsis
In the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), ensuring fairness and mitigating bias in AI systems has become a critical concern, not only from an ethical standpoint but also a legal one, an even from a competitive advantage perspective. As these technologies are increasingly present in our lives, from employment decisions to healthcare and beyond, it is very important to address potential biases and discriminatory outcomes proactively.
However, how can we translate the principle of the legal theory of fairness into practice? This presentation introduces the concept of "AI Fairness by Default," a journey into a framework that explores the meaning of fairness in the regulation, including the privacy by design and data protection by design and default frameworks in order to translate the AI Fairness principle into practical implementation.
