Wang Xiaojing, Head of Skills, DBT, British Embassy, BJ

Wang Xiaojing is the Head of Skills at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) based in the British Embassy Beijing. Since 2016, Xiaojing has dedicated to supporting the collaboration between the UK and China both on policy level and on commercial angle. The sectors she worked in include early years education, K12 schools, English Language Training, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Professional Talent Training. In the past few years, Xiaojing has supported and engaged in many UK - China governmental dialogues and commercial collaboration. Some of the examples include UK-China People to People Dialogue, UK Prime Minister Official Visit to China, DBT-MOE Early Years Teacher Training Collaboration, DBT-MOHRSS New Energy Vehicle Talent Training Programme, DBT-MOST Digital Accounting Talent Training Project, Beijing Human Resources and Social Security International Qualification list, among others.

2:00 PM - 2:45 PM Discovering NCCE offers for teachers and students and the CAS community

Niel Mclean, BCS Head of Education

Developed BCS's submission to the Treasury leading to the then Chancellor announcing a £100 million training programme for Computing teachers. Worked with partners to deliver the new National Centre for Computing Education. Recruited the network of regional delivery partners and school-based computing hubs to support the NCCE. Led the development of an innovative quality framework for computing education used by over 2000 schools. Developed the certification for teachers completing their training, reaching over 7000 teachers. Contributing to the leadership of the NCCE through its governance and operational groups.
