Synopsis
Identity and Access Management (IAM) has evolved from a niche IT function to a cornerstone of modern security programmes.
IAM has become crucial for protecting assets, ensuring compliance, and enabling seamless user experiences. However, the rapid growth of IAM has been accompanied by a common pitfall: leveraging fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) to justify security programs.
While FUD can capture attention, it often results in resistance, fatigue, and a short-term focus on compliance with audit rather than improving the experience for users of IT systems and keeping them safe.
Attendees will
- get a view of how to challenge the fear narrative in risk and assurance, and emphasise the importance of framing IAM initiatives in terms of business value.
- explore how improved assurance, streamlined access controls, and increased automation can enhance efficiency, satisfy users, and support growth whilst making users safer, without relying on the headlines from the latest cyber attack.
