Synopsis

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Branch will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The focus of the AGM is to review the last year and elect your committee for the next year.

The Branch motto is "Education to Expertise" and we are proud to be working within Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire to 'make IT good for society', with our valued members and wider people networks.

Existing Branch members will be notified by email of the procedure for committee role nominations.

As well as the election of the five BCS mandatory committee roles of:

  • Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Inclusion Officer
  • Early Career Advocate

Other current roles within the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Branch committee include:

  • Events Coordinator
  • Specialist Group Liaison
  • Education Liaison Officer
  • STEM Ambassador Liaison Officer
  • Webmaster
  • Social Media Officer

Additional committee members are always welcome and are encouraged to hold a specific portfolio, so if there is something that a Branch member wishes to champion then this may well be possible.

We are an open and friendly committee. Whilst we strive to make our activities as inclusive as possible, we welcome suggestions about how to continually improve.

Following the AGM formal proceedings, we would like to engage in a constructive discussion about how members feel the Branch activities could be improved.

It is the committee's intention to undertake a survey of members early in 2025 and so potential questions for this survey will be presented for discussion/review.

As it is Christmas (nearly) please feel free to wear your favourite Christmas jumper - or anything else festive.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
