Synopsis

According to a 2024 IEEE study, survey respondents expect telecoms to be the industry most impacted by AI this year. This presentation will cover where telcos are today and where the most financial value is expected from deploying AI and automation. It will take a detour around their use of Generative AI and how telcos think about creating products that include AI and the data that they have in their systems. It will then finish with a look at how AI and automation will change the industry in the next 10-20 years and how telcos will need to change in order to respond to trends.

About the speaker

Charlotte Patrick

Charlotte is an independent industry analyst covering the use of artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics by telecom companies. Her areas of interest are the uptake and efficacy of these technologies and the resulting financial benefit. She brings 13 years of experience as an analyst at Gartner, 5 years as an independent analyst, and 10 years of practical experience in AT&T, COLT and Telefonica O2 – with a mix of strategic, marketing and financial skill sets.
