EMEC has hosted many world firsts and during lock-down was host to pioneering work that led to green hydrogen and carbon monoxide being fused to form a liquid fuel and the RAF undertaking their first fully synthetically fuelled flight. This moment marked a change in direction for the hydrogen journey upon which Orkney had been embarked.
About the speaker
Neil Kermode
Neil Kermode, originally from Bournemouth, has been the Managing Director of EMEC for 18 years and seen the pioneering work that has led to the county now driving hard towards ending the use of fossil fuels. His talk will explain why this change came about and how he sees this rolling out beyond Orkney.
