Synopsis

With over 300 members in the Hereford & Worcester branch, a large number of local employers engaged in IT and computing services and over 140 students engaged in computer science studies at our local University, this presentation aims to explain the career paths, certification and professional recognition available as members of the BCS community. We aim to give current members and students recognition as trusted professionals in a diverse and rapidly evolving employment and business environment.

This presentation aims to provide an overview of membership and accreditation that BCS offer for students and employers to help with career development and share expertise in the growing industry. If you are interested in connecting with the IT community and sharpen your employability skills, this presentation will cover the tools and resources needed to kickstart your career in tech.

About the speaker

Thayeba Hussain, Membership Engagement Coordinator

Thayeba is a membership professional with a keen interest in driving membership growth and engagement in the technology sector. She is currently the Membership Engagement Coordinator at BCS and had previously worked in charitable organisations, namely in cyber security and health & safety. Her role helps facilitate the wider membership and community base at BCS to create a network of likeminded tech professionals from various career stages.

Thayeba leads the digital skills bootcamp sessions that brings learners and early career candidates to be a part of the growing BCS membership and supports with career development through BCS benefits. She also welcomes new volunteers at BCS and enjoys connecting with likeminded experts in the industry via socials. Thayeba is passionate about being a valued member of BCS and aims to be a positive advocate for the tech community while simultaneously fostering the BCS core mission; Making IT Good for Society.”
