Synopsis
Joining BCS is about being recognised as a competent, ethical and accountable professional who’s using tech for good in today’s society. It’s about developing your skills and keeping up to date with the latest digital thinking, growing your professional network, and being respected for your place in the industry. In this talk aimed at both current members and those considering membership we will discuss how the BCS can help you plan and progress your career, how BCS can help you become a chartered professional and recognise your expertise. We will also discuss how you can contribute to the BCS and help IT be good for Society.
About the speaker
Gillian Arnold is the BCS Deputy President, a Past Chair of the BCS Women Specialist Group, spent 11 years as a non-executive director of WISE and currently sits on the Diversity and Inclusion Board for the Institute of Coding. In 2015, she was identified as the 9th Most Influential Women in UK IT 2015, by Computer Weekly.
Gillian is the managing director of Tectre, an IT recruitment and training company focussed on supporting women in technical roles.
