Synopsis
This talk will provide a comprehensive outlook on how degree apprenticeships can make a real difference in an organisation both personally to the staff/apprentice and for aiding recruitment and retention in organisations. A general explanation of how apprenticeships are paid for utilising the Levy or alternatively 5% cost only will be discussed. Finally, this talk will also introduce some example degree apprenticeships with Sophie discussing the full list of the programmes offered at the University of Gloucestershire.

Sophie Burch, University of Gloucestershire
Sophie Burch is a Client Development Manager at the University of Gloucestershire with a particular focus on Degree Apprenticeships in the Computing and Engineering subject areas. More specifically, apprenticeships such as Cyber Security Technical Professional, Digital Technology Solutions Professional and Manufacturing Engineer. As part of her role she liaises with a variety of employers to identify opportunities to help contribute in ensuring a future pipeline of digital professionals within the South West. Prior to this, Sophie worked as a Business Consultant in Further Education and has over 11 years experience in the Industry and has built up a strong network over the years and enjoys understanding organisations and contributing to its success by sourcing and recruiting new apprentices.
