Synopsis
Most public and private sector organizations globally are now moving some or all of their IT Operations to the cloud and many face unexpected and expensive surprises. Whether it’s licensing for infrastructure, applications, security, database or other operational software, there are many bear traps waiting to swallow you up on your journey to the Cloud and beyond. In this session we will explore and discuss what will keep a SAM Manager awake at night drawing on real life experiences.
About the speaker
Ronan O’Carroll
Beginning his IT career in the late 1980s Ronan is recognized as a leading global Software Licensing expert. With a highly developed focus on clients, Ronan’s consultancy and advisory experience includes the “A-list” of the Software world both vendor side and client side. Having audited for and on behalf of vendors, Ronan turned to advising clients defensively in the mid-2010s. In addition to pure licence compliance, Ronan has developed a portfolio across software & IT asset management and his experience from the IT industry and the Professional Services arenas covers diverse industries and organisations (e.g. Pharma, Technology, Financial Services, Travel, Retail, Central Government, Analysts e.g. Gartner, ITAM review, Cloud FinOps and Trade organisations). He is acknowledged for having considerable experience in financial, commercial, legal and technical aspects of operational business activities working to revenue and budget targets. Ronan especially enjoys and gains satisfaction from developing successful partnering and working relationships with virtual country, regional and global teams in both internal and client’s organisations.
