About the speaker
Keith Taylor, FBCS, CEng, CITP, BSc.(Eng)
Keith graduated with an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University in 1968, and moved quickly on from hardware to microcode and software engineering. During a long career with IBM he did product design, performance analysis, and quality and project management. The projects that he worked on included mainframe processors, graphics, process control, mobile applications, and business middleware. He also developed new user interface concepts in a joint project between IBM and Microsoft.
Since retiring from IBM, he has worked with the BCS in a number of roles both with his local Hampshire Branch and also with the BCS Membership Committee, where he was formerly chairman of the Fellowship Panel. He was also involved with the BCS IT awards for more than ten years as an entrant, a sponsor, a judge, an awards panellist, and a moderator. He now continues to assess and interview applicants for Engineering council registration and for Fellowship, and to give advice to members and new assessors.
