Synopsis
The world wide web is the home of disintermediation, it has no filters and gives anyone the right to speak. Disinformation is an instrument of power and competitive struggle that is used in the most varied fields: war, domestic and international politics, the world of business and finance, advertising, but also in the competition for power within any complex public or private organisation. Using, or ignoring, facts in accordance with whether they create the desired impression is the principal agenda of today’s media.
It’s therefore imperative to understand the mechanisms and dynamics of the web, how to recognise and combat the fake news, not only to protect our privacy, but also to safeguard our judgement integrity and autonomy in decisions about takes.
