Synopsis
This talk is about building empathy for people with impairments, making sure we are aware of how to design and build services which don’t disable people.
There will be real world examples of things which have not gone so well, and tools and resources you can use to help make your services more accessible.
About the speaker
Craig Abbott, DWP
Craig is the Head of Accessibility at DWP Digital, creating strategies to support accessibility compliance, culture and education within the department.
Craig recently produced the DWP Accessibility Manual. It is a collection of accessibility guidance and best practice all in one place. It's completely open source. BCS members are free to review the manual, contribute to it and are free to reuse any of the codebase on their own projects.
