BCSWomen in Scotland event.
Synopsis
After BCSWomen Scotland’s popular event on data driven decisions in 2019, which looked at some of the ethical issues that can arise from the collection, retention, and use of data, we are delighted to follow this up with our data ethics event, on 28th October at 6.30pm.
This will be an interactive discussion with 3 panelists, who will look at data in a range of situations and the ethics that should be considered in that use.
About the speakers
The panelists are Liza Herzog-Reid who, amongst other related issues has an interest in Data Colonialism, Dr Cate Pemble who has an interest in disability human rights and consent, and Martin Sloan whose work reaches across data, technology and intellectual property rights.
His special interest in this discussion is the interaction between law and ethics, in particular in relation to data protection compliance and the use of AI.
Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
