The 25th Annual INSPIRE Conference will be for the first time a free e-conference, to encourage entries from the UK and overseas.
Synopsis
INSPIRE XXV is the twenty fifth in an annual series of international conferences on improving the quality of teaching and training issues, organised by the BCS e-learning and the Quality Specialist Groups of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. It attracts papers from international sources, covering several themes such as computational thinking, use of gaming in education, student engagement and employability, MOOCs, lifelong learning and case studies on how e-learning will be and is being used, at schools, colleges, universities and organisations during these difficult times.
Keynotes by Prof Liz Bacon on current and possible future educational changes in the UK and Prof Eleine Berki on recent changes in Scandinavia.
Submission could be based on a case study or of a research nature from industrial and/or academic authors. Submissions from outside the UK particularly welcomed.
There will be no conference fee for authors or remote attendees.
The acceptance for a presentation is dependent on the abstract and then the power point slides with audio attached. After the conference, full papers to be submitted in format for review. Those passing the reviewing stage will be included in free, online e-proceedings. The copyright of any published papers remains with the authors.
Submission in 2 stages
Two-page abstracts (with maximum of 6 references) together with a brief bio and full contact details are required as soon as possible to Hooper-L@ulster.ac.uk, with copy to Margaret.ross@bcs.org.uk with INSPIRE 2020 in the subject line.
The abstracts will be reviewed by at least 3 referees.
Authors of accepted abstracts will be required to send their Power Point slides, for a 15-minute presentation, with audio attached to each of the numbered slides (due to possible technical difficulties with the remote presentation) by 1st July These slides will be reviewed by referees, and if accepted, the submission is then accepted for remote presentation. Arrangements have been made so authors can test their presentation in the week of 6th July.
The authors will be invited to produce a formal paper if they wish, in set format style, for again a 3-person reviewing for publication following the conference, as a free e-proceedings. The accepted abstracts and accepted Power point slides might be made freely available on the Internet.
