The UK has committed to reaching ‘Net Zero’ carbon emissions by 2050, this requires a huge amount of change right across the UK energy system. Data is key to decarbonisation at scale in the UK. That data will enable systems to be optimised, investment targeted and markets to operate in a way that supports a new low carbon energy industry.
However, this vision can only be realised through a much greater level of data sharing across the industry to enable data to flow between organisations and innovation to take place. This talk will discuss the action that is taking place in the energy sector to open up data more effectively and the opportunities this creates for those with expertise in data management, data engineering and data science.
