What better way to kick off January than hearing from students about their first experience of working in data analysis and delivering better outcomes for Scotland?
Join BCSWomen Scotland and Scotland Women in Technology at our first event of 2019, hosted by Lloyds Banking Group at their iconic ‘The Mound’ in Edinburgh on 29 January 2019.
The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) is responsible for investing £1.8 billion of public money each year in Scotland’s colleges and universities –providing world class educational opportunities for over half a million people. Last summer, SFC extended that opportunity for two students, offering data analysis summer internships to Laura Hepburn, DataLab MSc at the University of Stirling, and Lily Samett, Q-step at the University of Edinburgh.
These students worked within the Performance Measurement & Analysis team of SFC’s data collection and analysis department, enabling the students to use college and university records to develop programs and gain insight into elements of education policy. On January 29th, we’ll hear about the benefits of these internships for both the organisation and the students as well as some of the content from their interesting projects.
There will be time to network over refreshments on arrival and opportunity after to ask any questions of our speakers.
