Summary of event:
How can we best innovate to enhance learning with technology? Now that students can easily access a vast array of learning materials and indeed get access to powerful technology itself to learn by doing, the opportunity for education innovation is enormous. Such innovation can be of many different types from highly disruptive, to sustaining good practice, through to driving up efficiency.
James will describe King’s journey to ride this wave of innovative change in the area of Technology Enhanced Learning. He will describe the innovation journey that King’s made to transition from ‘one size fits all’ standard, consistent offerings to a multiplicity of ‘bespoke’ specific faculty needs for the here and now. And the journey continues: beyond this, James will explain how King’s is looking ahead to the future and the technology platforms needed to meet King’s 2029 vision and its Education Strategy 2017-2022.
Speaker Biographies:
James is the Head of Digital Education and the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) at King’s College London. CTEL develops technology to support student and staff teaching and learning and is currently spearheading a multimillion pound Technology Enhanced Learning transformation programme. James holds an MA in Academic Practice (Technology Enabled) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
