What are student chapters?

Chapters work in a similar way to a computing society, providing a platform for like-minded students across IT disciplines to get together to debate and share information. They also offer students the opportunity to connect with people working in the industry and to start building a professional network.

Chapters are run by students, for students. They require a committee of individuals to run the chapter, providing a variety of events and activities for its members. Our dedicated chapter team at BCS can help to support you with events, marketing, funding and more.

  • Develop your IT knowledge and skills through discussion and debates, workshops, hackathons, guest speaker events and more.
  • Start building your own professional network by connecting with BCS members and tech employers in the local area.
  • Increase your confidence and boost your extra-curricular credentials - "committee leader" will look great on your CV.
  • Get to know like-minded students on campus and in universities across the chapter network, for both study and social activity.
